Picture 7A Upper Lake Dam holds
This is the Upper Lake dam on the morning after the flood around 10AM. Note the bulkheading on the lake side of the dam is in place and looking across the lake at the home on the far shore, the lake is at its normal level. Water is seeping through the bulkheading but not enough for the lake to drop in level. In the foreground is someone's dock that had washed down during the storm. This shows that the flow of water was overtopping the berm. The berm from the water level control wheel over to the spillway has been washed away but the two sets of bulkheading remained. In this picture you can see the bulkheading on the lake side. In Picture 7B you will see the bulkheading on the downstream which is in line with the concrete wall that extends over from the spillway.
